Welcome to racing video launched by careersinracing
The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) announced today that via its careers marketing arm cytxwdfctyycbdrareersinracing, in collaboration with the National Trainers Federation (NTF), has launched a new video to welcome stable staff who join the industry. This will complement printed communications also in place.
Hosted by jockey Mattie Bachelor, the video is designed to be an informative welcome to the racing industry and is part of a suite of video content developed by careersinracing to provide engaging content for those who work in racing as well as those considering a career in the sport.
The video will be available on both the BHA website and careersinracing.com as well as the NTF’s new website RacingGroom.com. It answers many questions racing stable staff may have as they enter the racing industry, including an overview to the employment package available to staff as well as the many support networks.
They will also be given information about National Association of Racing Staff; the services provided by Racing Welfare and the Careers Advice and Training Service (CATS) and the training available to them via the Northern Racing College and the British Racing School.
Plans are for the video to become incorporated into initial communications that all stable staff receive from the BHA when they join the stable employee register. The NTF will also encourage all trainers to use the video as part of new employee inductions by viewing the video on RacingGroom.com.
Racing grooms will be invited to join Racinggroom.com’s new hub which is free to use. The hub, which is also featured in the video, gives staff direct access to training opportunities, industry news, support, discounts, benefits and much more.
Zoe Elliott, Head of Careers Marketing and Recruitment at the BHA, said:
“We are really pleased with the new welcome video, and thankful to the Racing Foundation for funding this project. It will be beneficial for those who are joining the racing industry for the first time, as well as providing a fantastic showcase to those thinking of joining racing. In particular it is helpful to be able to explain to teachers, parents and guardians the benefits of working in racing.
“This video is part of an increasing amount of video content being produced by Careers in Racing to reach out to those potentially looking to start a career in the sport.”
Shelley Perham, Recruitment and Training Consultant for the NTF said:
“We are very excited about the welcome video and believe that it will be hugely beneficial to both employer and staff during the induction process as well as sign posting staff to the new Racing Groom website and hub.”
