Hours: 40 hours per week, working any 5 days from 7 by arrangement with your manager. Working race days as required.

Role Summary

Based at one of the UK’s most prestigious racecourses and home of The Festival, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Racing Operations Executive to join our team at Cheltenham Racecourse to assist the Regional Racing Operations Manager with the implementation, planning, organisation and presentation of race days, as well as providing essential support to the Operations team with various events and projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• The co-ordination of contractors, ensuring they have appropriate Health & Safety accreditation.
• Overseeing arrangements with race-day staff and race-makers, ensuring they have appropriate information and uniforms issued prior to events.
• The co-ordination of all Health & Safety matters at Cheltenham Racecourse including accident reporting, maintaining Health & Safety records and administration in accordance with procedures and legislation.
• Providing administrative support to the Operations team for a variety of tasks, such as the bookmaker’s administration, taking minutes and the managing and issuing of equipment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an administrative role and be able to manage time effectively, sometimes working to tight deadlines.

Due to the nature of this role, there will be a requirement to be available at weekends and evenings as and when required. Travel to other Racecourses within the West Region may also be required, so it is essential that the successful candidate holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
