The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) is the governing and regulatory body for horseracing in Great Britain. It is the BHA’s role to act for and on behalf of the whole sport, with a key objective being to ensure the highest standards apply on and away from the racecourse.

Reporting to the Project Director, this role will involve you being a core member of the Programme Management Office which is undertaking an extensive Strategy and Structures review of the BHA; looking at 1) the purpose and strategic priorities of the BHA, 2) how the BHA is best structured and resourced to deliver the agreed purpose and 3) how to ensure that future ways of working, organisational culture and behaviours support structure and effective delivery of service.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a desire to make a positive change and improvement for British Horseracing. You will also need to be an innovative critical thinker, who is focused on proactive solutions.

Culturally, we take pride in the way we work and what we achieve, this is at the heart of what we expect from this role. We are looking for an inspiring motivator who can lead programme/project management across a diverse organisation. You must be a strong communicator, comfortable in communicating at all organisational levels in the BHA and across a complex racing environment.

Your experience is likely to have come from a project management background, ideally coupled with a sound understanding of sports governance and/or horse racing, however not essential.

We acknowledge that having a diverse and inclusive workforce is fundamental to our success and we actively encourage and welcome applications from candidates of diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences. People with disabilities or from ethnically diverse communities are currently underrepresented in the organisation and therefore we welcome these candidates to apply.
