Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting all those working and retired from the British horseracing and breeding industry. Following an exciting period of growth and a new partnership with The Racing Foundation we are looking to appoint a Programme Manager to oversee the continued delivery of our workforce wellbeing programme. The core purpose of the role is to manage all aspects of the programme, including developing existing projects as we grow and extend our support to ever more people.
The new post holder will ensure successful delivery and development of all of the charity’s workforce wellbeing projects including;
• Racing’s Support Line
• Racing’s Occupational Health Service
• The Careers, Advice and Training Service (CATS)
• and the development of improved Mental Health services.
Reporting to the Director of Welfare and Senior Management Team you will have proven and demonstrable experience of project and programme management techniques as well as an understanding of the benefits this programme will bring to the horseracing industry. It is essential that you have a keen interest in the horseracing industry in addition to being passionate about improving wellbeing outcomes for people working in racing.
You will be an excellent communicator across a range of stakeholder groups and will ensure the individual projects are within scope and remain strategically aligned to the charity’s objectives. The ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, line manage the individual project leads and problem solve is essential.
This is a full-time, national post that will require travel alongside a flexible and innovative approach. The post holder can be home or office based or a combination of both.

Please note, as this post may involve direct contact with young people and vulnerable adults alongside some work of a sensitive nature it will be subject to a satisfactory, enhanced DBS disclosure.
