After a £34 million redevelopment, racegoers can enjoy an amazing raceday experience at this world-class venue. At the heart of this new development is an impressive five-storey grandstand. The main stand includes stunning new private hospitality suites, a wide range of places to eat and drink, plus luxury dining experiences.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Porter (Full-Time) to join our highly successful team at the Hilton Garden Inn Doncaster Racecourse.

As our Night Porter you will be required to deliver high standards of general bar, cleaning and security duties overnight. You will provide our guests with a professional and helpful service, including check in / check outs.

As our Night Porter, you will know and understand what it means to deliver Brighthearted hospitality and will thrive on the challenge of always exceeding guest’s expectations. You will be expected to achieve a level of service through the constant monitoring of our established brand standards. As a result you should be highly attentive to detail and be capable of delivering consistent standards. You should have a warm, personable nature and a can do attitude. In this type of industry teamwork is key; you should be a strong team player willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Hours

40 hours a week over 5 days, working 10pm – 6.30am.

Reporting to the Night Manager, your duties and key responsibilities as our Night Porter will include:

Welcoming late guest arrivals, providing a warm, vibrant welcome and offering full explanation of the services available.
Check-out early departures in a friendly, courteous manner and ensure charges posted are correct and supporting documentation is available.
Take every opportunity to upsell F& B facilities.
Demonstrate knowledge of the hotel’s facilities and know the local area.
Take every opportunity to upsell rooms with the aim of achieving maximum occupancy at maximum rate.
Deal with complaints politely and positively making every effort to resolve there and then.
Carry out full security checks throughout the night, ensuring the security of the premises and the safety of our guests. Any discrepancies must be reported according to hotel procedures.
Carry out assigned administrative tasks e.g. night audit, cash handling and reconciliation, computer back up.
Carry out assigned operational tasks e.g. delivery of express check out bills, provision of early morning calls.
Provide bar service within the onsite bar, within prevailing licensing laws, as required.
Adhere to cash handling, security and emergency procedures.
Clean public areas and set up meetings and events rooms as directed.
Being fully compliant with H&S requirements.
Set up breakfast to the required brand standards.
Previous experience

The successful applicant should have previous experience in working in a hotel or customer service environment, be able to work flexible hours, on any night of the week.
