The National Horseracing College seeks to employ a full-time Support Assistant to join its enthusiastic, vibrant and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 in 2016.

To be selected for this interesting, challenging role, you must have practical experience of working with young people, and an understanding of the needs of young people from deprived backgrounds and/or with specialist needs. Experience in supporting teaching staff to deliver agreed learning activities to ensure that each individual learner meets their discrete learning needs. Equestrian knowledge and experience is essential and an understanding of the racing industry is desirable.

Hours of work: 37 per week, flexible according to the needs of the role as some evening and weekend work will be required.

The salary is £15,796.04 per annum with a contributory pension scheme, an initial holiday entitlement of 25 days, plus Bank Holidays. A fixed term contract for two years, with potential to be extended (reliant on achievement of targets and further funding). This post is funded by the Community Fund for two years.
