Equine Student Progression Programme

For Equine College students, this is an intensive training course teaching participants how to ride and look after racehorses. Upon successful completion of the seven-week training course, participants will be placed into employment at a Racehorse Trainer’s yard.

Course Overview

The training course will teach participants how to ride and look after racehorses and will be held at the British Racing School in Newmarket. Upon successful completion of the seven week training programme participants will be placed into employment at a Racehorse Trainer’s yard. This seven week residential course runs annually during the summer months. Applications are open all year round but the course will only run once a year.  Successful candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day at the British Racing School.

Applicants attending an assessment day will be required to complete a fitness assessment and discuss their suitability for the course and career aspirations.

Eligibility

The Equine Student Progression Programme offers a route into the horse racing industry for those in their final year of studies at an Equine College or who have recently graduated and who have a strong desire and interest to work with racehorses.
