Equine Student Progression Programme

A seven week residential training course followed by a work placement at a Racehorse Trainer’s yard

The Equine Student Progression Programme offers a route into the horse racing industry for those in their final year of studies at an Equine College or who have recently graduated and who have a strong desire and interest to work with racehorses.

The training course will teach participants how to ride and look after racehorses and will be held at the British Racing School in Newmarket.

Upon successful completion of the five week training programme participants will be placed into employment at a Racehorse Trainer’s yard.

This seven week residential course runs annually during the summer months. Applications usually open in April and close at the end of May. Successful applicants are invited to attend an interview in May, which includes an assessment of fitness and suitability for the course.
