Do you know someone aged between 9-15 and looking to get involved in racing now!! Pony Racing could be just the thing, there are opportunities at every level and you don't need a super fast pony to join in the fun. Pony Racing was set up to give young people the experience of a raceday and the chance to have a taste of being a Jockey.
There are 3 series:
The Charles Owen Series, run on racecourses throughout the country on racedays, are for youngsters aged 11-15. There are 2 races per meeting for ponies of 138cm and under and 148cm and under over distances of 4 furlongs and upwards. Each year the series ends with the final race held at a major racecourse. A full list of fixtures and results can be found on the Pony Racing Authority website.
Point to Point pony races are held at Point to Point Meetings throughout the country during the season. There are usually 2 races run for ponies 138cm and under and 148cm and under.
