Fred Packard Racing Scholarship

The Fred Packard Racing Scholarship has been launched by The British Racing School.  It is open to those under 25 who have achieved an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship through the BRS.  The Scholarship will fund the winner to be attached to a top trainer in either Australia or South Africa for a period of 4 months.  Further details, conditions and application forms can be obtained from the BRS website www.brs.org.uk or from Sue Hines at The British Racing School (01638 675908)

Fred Packard was a Trustee of the BRS from 1997 until his death in 2009.  During this time he took a particular interest in young people involved in training at the School.  As a result, following his death, his family have generously agreed to fund an annual Scholarship in his name which will hopefully perpetuate his quiet but significant contribution to racing.
