New Industry Qualifications

The British Horseracing Authority and the British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust (BHEST) have teamed up to create two new nationally recognised qualifications to help people learn about the structure of the horseracing industry.  If you want to be more effective in your role by improving your knowledge, enhance your awareness of the wider industry and the people you are working with and want to increase your confidence, these qualifications are for you.

There are two qualifications you can complete - Level 1 Award in An Introduction to the Horseracing Industry & Level 2 Certificate in the Structure of the Horseracing Industry. 

These short industry acknowledged qualifications, are externally recognised and a must for anyone who:

• Currently works in racing and would like to understand more about the industry
• Is planning a career in racing and needs a head start
• Is passionate about racing and wants to know more about its structure

For employers, these qualifications provide a first rate opportunity to ensure your staff have a consistent knowledge of the horseracing industy, making them more effective in their day to day roles when dealing with customers and colleagues. It is an ideal tool for inducting new staff.

These exciting qualifications are awarded by BHEST and the training can be delivered in two ways:

• the first involves a seminar consisting of presentations and lectures on the content of the syllabus, followed by an invigilated test
• the second involves self supported study from workbooks provided and an invigilated test.
