Assistant Trainers Course

This is a three-day course reflecting the importance of the assistant trainers' role within stables and on the racecourse where they represent their trainer in Stewards' Enquiries on a daily basis.

This course is suitable for Head Grooms and Pupil Assistants as well as Assistants. A recommendation from the trainer or a CV proving sufficient experience must accompany an application.

It is ideal for anyone new to the role of Assistant Trainer or those who aspire to be an Assistant Trainer and who want to delevelop their leadership skills, communcations skills and generally build their confidence.

  • Media Training
  • Health and Safety
  • Racing Welfare
  • BHA's Licensing and Security functions
  • Weatherbys Operations
  • Rules of Racing.

The cost of the course is normally £400.00, however the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) part fund the course fee. The amount payable is inclusive of tuition, course literature, refreshments and bed and breakfast accommodation.
